The Anatomy of Peace

“Our fate is shaped from within ourselves outward, never from without inward.”
Jacques Lusseyran

Deep inside each of us there are many feelings—some good, some bad. In the world around us there are many events taking place each day—some good, some bad. In our lives we have many relationships—some good, some bad. Is there a way to eliminate all of the bad and turn them into good?? The Anatomy of Peace by the Arbinger Institute argues there is a way.

From family conflicts to world conflicts, the Anatomy of Peace teaches us how to have a “heart at peace” rather than a “heart at war.” The book’s philosophy is based on viewing reality as it really is while avoiding deception. It’s about seeing and treating others as people rather than objects. Using interesting and diverse stories of conflict, the ideas in the book are unfolded. Through the application of its concepts, the world has the potential to resolve all of life’s conflicts.

Regrettably, we all choose to be at war with others without realizing it. The ideas in The Anatomy of Peace help us understand how conflict arises while teaching us a new way to deal with and think about conflict and others. The book also explains the pattern of conflict, different internal methods of warfare, and how to find peace in any situation. The book concludes by illustrating how each and every one of us can spread peace.

Having peace in this life while minimizing conflicts is a choice, and this book helps us learn strategies on how to maintain a heart at peace with others, regardless of the circumstances. Truly applying the teachings found in this book will change your life as well as those around you. I encourage everyone to read this book and then choose to be at peace amongst the daily wars…
